Jul 4, 2016

When you book a holiday all you want to do is to forget about the daily routine and enjoy time with your family and friends. As more and more people discovers the advantage of holiday homes over the traditional hotel rooms, they are also expecting to have the basic facilities and amenities included in the price.
As a property manager or owner you might wonder which amenities your guests expect to have included? Based upon on our experience and the trends in the market, we have listed 5 amenities that a guest would expect to have included in their holiday rental costs:

1. Internet – Wifi

Nowadays, we depend more and more on the Internet. The guests do not want to spend a single day without having access to the Internet. They want to keep contact with people back home, send photos, visit social networks and follow the news etc.
A high percentage users of mobile phones or tablets do have an Internet flat rate. However, when they travel abroad, they often have to pay high fees to use the Internet or they might  have limited access only. Most guest look for a holiday home with WiFi, and it has proven to be the decisive factor for our guests.

2. Television –  Extra channels

Most holiday properties have a tv, and it is a common facility that all clients expect to find. The guest likes to see the news and/or follow any major sports events and of course watch cartoons in case they travel with children. If the property receives a lot of foreign guests, you can differentiate your property by offering cable or satellite tv. Many guests really appreciate the opportunity to watch tv in their own language languages and it helps them to feel at home.

3. Bed Linen

Most guests would prefer to get the bed linen provided so they do not have to pack a set of their own. Please also bear in mind how many guests you are going to receive and ensure that there is a full set for everyone to avoid any complaints. Please check if they are clean, and if possible leave a spare set for any minor accidents that might occur.

4. Cookware

Apart from the basic cookware appropriate to the house size, it is a good idea to include some useful tools such as a wine bottle opener or a can opener. Please also ensure that you have the house fully equipped with enough plates, glasses, cutlery, mugs etc. for the amount of persons that fits in the house.

5. Bathroom Amenities

Guests do not want to bring their own towels or pay an extra cost for them. To have the correct amount of towels available is essential for the experience of the guest. Please also remember to place towel for the hands and a bath mat in all of the bathrooms if more than one. As a an extra you could also provide some rolls of toilet paper.  Some properties go further and also include shampoo, shower gel and/or a hair dryer. These are great details to consider for your guests.
