The vacation rental industry is also experiencing a boom in the tourism sector. The demand for holiday rentals has increased internationally with 33% in 2015 compared to 2014. This increase reinforces the upward trend, as there are increasingly more people who choose to spend their holiday in a holiday home.
The three main reasons for choosing this type of accommodation are:

  1. Comfort
  2. Affordability
  3. Local Expertise

In an analysis prepared by one of the largest companies in the holiday rentals industry,  60% of the guests are interested in spending their holidays in Spain, while the remaining 40% looks for holiday rentals in other countries. The analysis furthermore states that the guests are mainly looking for holiday homes near the beach or in a beach area.
